Celebrex is indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the femoral and tibIAL joints, rheumatoid arthritis of the knees, fingers and spine, ankylosing spondylitis, and dysmenorrhea.
In osteoarthritis, it is indicated for:
For the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea (menopausal symptoms), including primary dyspareunia (pain in the shoulders, arms, neck and of the face), it is indicated for up to 6 months.
In secondary dysmenorrhea, treatment should be started as soon as possible within the first year of taking celecoxib (Celebrex) and as long as up to 12 months after drug discontinuation. The duration of treatment may depend on the severity of dysmenorrhea and the patient’s personal needs and preferences.
Celebrex is not recommended for use in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to celecoxib.
It is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of hypersensitivity to cyclosporine or any other component of the cyclosporine class of medicines.
Celebrex should be used with caution in patients with a history of asthma, hypersensitivity to any ingredient of celecoxib.
The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration consistent with individual patient treatment goals and disease duration. Patients with bone marrow depression, marrow failure, or marrow disease accompanied by leukopenia (low numbers of white blood cells), neutropenia (high number of white blood cells), and thrombocytopenia (low count of white blood cells) should be treated with cyclosporine for the shortest duration consistent with individual treatment goals and disease duration.
As with other NSAIDs, celecoxib (Celebrex) should be used with caution in patients with a known history of gastrointestinal or cardiovascular disease, including asthma, or a history of peptic ulcer disease.

Celecoxib (Celebrex) is contraindicated in patients with a known history of gastrointestinal disease (for example, colitis or gastrointestinal perforation) or hypersensitivity to cyclosporine.
Patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, including systemic lupus erythematosus, myeloproliferative disorders (for example, leukemia, multiple myeloma), or chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension should not take celecoxib.

The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Celebrex for the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AD), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), multiple myeloma, acute myeloid leukemia, and acute leukemia. Celebrex has been on the market for more than a decade. The active ingredient in Celebrex iscelecoxib, a brand name for the drug ibuprofen. Celebrex has been approved for use in adults for two years or less, or up to five years. Celebrex is only indicated to treat ankylosing spondylitis. Celebrex can help to relieve pain and lower the risk of pain that may accompany ankylosing spondylitis. Celebrex may also reduce the risk of stomach ulcers. In adults, the recommended dose of Celebrex is 200-400 mg every four weeks. Celebrex may also be used for the treatment of a variety of other conditions (such as inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and ulcerative gingivostomatitis) when other treatment options have not been successful. Celebrex has also been approved to treat the symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in up to two out of three patients. Celebrex has also been approved to treat the symptoms of arthritis in patients aged 65 and older. Celebrex is not approved for use in children younger 12 years old.

Celebrex, known generically as Celebrex (celecoxib), is a selective COX-2 inhibitor that specifically targets COX-2 enzymes in the body. This inhibition not only enhances the anti-inflammatory effects of COX-2 inhibitors but also enhances the anti-platelet effects of NSAIDs, which are the most commonly used drugs for pain management. Celebrex is often prescribed for acute pain and may also be used for managing menstrual pain and pain associated with other conditions. Here’s a comprehensive comparison of Celebrex with other pain relief options.
Celebrex, a member of the selective COX-2 inhibitors, works by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for breaking down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) into smaller molecules. The active ingredient in Celebrex is called celecoxib. This medication is used to treat common pain conditions such as arthritis, muscle pain, menstrual pain, and back pain.
Celebrex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has anti-inflammatory properties. It works by blocking the production of specific enzymes that are responsible for producing cGMP. cGMP is important in the production of the body’s inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins. These mediators are responsible for the production of a number of different chemicals that play a role in the body’s response to pain and inflammation. Celebrex has been shown to be highly effective in treating pain and inflammatory conditions as well as other types of pain.
Like any medication, Celebrex may cause some side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include stomach upset, indigestion, diarrhea, and headache. These side effects usually go away on their own, but it’s important to talk with a healthcare provider if they become bothersome or do not go away.
It’s important to note that Celebrex may not be suitable for everyone. If you are taking any other medications or have any medical conditions, your doctor or pharmacist can provide you with alternative options for treating your pain. In some cases, Celebrex may be prescribed for other uses. Always discuss the risks and benefits of Celebrex with your healthcare provider before starting any new medication.
If you are taking any other medications, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting or changing any medication.
If you have allergies to any medications, talk with your healthcare provider before starting or changing any medications. They can help you to avoid any potential interactions.
If you have any underlying health conditions or are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your healthcare provider before starting any medication. They can help you to minimize risks of harm to the baby or fetus.
Celebrex has some common side effects that can affect a small number of people. Some of the more serious side effects of Celebrex include:
If you experience any side effects while taking Celebrex, talk with your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
If you have heart problems, your doctor may recommend you stop taking Celebrex and switch to another medication. This can help prevent heart-related complications.
If you experience stomach upset, do not take Celebrex unless prescribed by your doctor. In that case, do not use it.
If you have stomach pain, talk with your healthcare provider. They can help you to determine the best treatment option for you.
You should not take Celebrex if you are allergic to celecoxib or if you are taking other medications. However, your healthcare provider or pharmacist can provide you with alternative options if you have allergies to any medications.
It’s important to keep in mind that Celebrex may interact with other medications that you take.
Celebrex 100mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Celecoxib. It belongs to the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), and specifically a sub-group known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. Celebrex 100mg Tablet works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.
Do not take Celebrex 100mg Tablet if you are allergic to Celebrex 100mg Tablet or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you had reactions to sulfonamide medicines, suffer from ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines, or experienced adverse reactions to NSAID medications like aspirin.
Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor because it is recommended to not take this medicine if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Report your doctor if you have conditions such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, compromised heart, liver, or kidney function, fluid retention, dehydration, past severe allergic reactions to medications, ongoing infections, or are over 65 years old. Monitoring may be necessary. Notably, Celebrex 100mg Tablet could mask fever or infection signs. Remember, alcohol combined with NSAIDs may increase gastrointestinal risks.
